GSLACH camp

Three Calhoun County Middle School students will  be among first group of students to attend the newest Governor's School:  Governor's School for LiteracyThrough Arts, Culture, and History (GSLACH).

Maddison Cunningham, Bret Richards and Addison Collins will be joining 107 current seventh and eighth grade students.  Students will attend June 25-30 at the WV Culture Center State Museum and the University of Charleston. They are going  to delve into undertakings that allow them the time and opportunity to read, think, explore, create, listen, speak, and experience how literacy impacts their lives.

GSLACH students will engage in a variety of literacy projects and activities related to the arts, culture, and history.  The goal is to open students' eyes to the power and creativity afforded to them through literacy; to that effect, students will learn the importance of literacy not only in the arts, culture, and history, but also in their daily lives in general.
