Students participated in a variety of field trips that offered opportunities for learning, relaxation, and connection beyond the classroom. A fishing trip allowed students to practice new skills, support one another, and enjoy time outdoors, with many experiencing the excitement of catching their first fish. A visit to a local water park provided a fun and active day where students relaxed, enjoyed the attractions, and strengthened friendships. The trip to Blennerhassett Island gave students insight into West Virginia’s early history, deepening their understanding of the region’s heritage and its role in broader American events. At Burnsville Lake, students spent time fishing and swimming while appreciating the natural beauty of the area, creating lasting memories in a scenic setting. The visit to the French Creek Wildlife Center introduced students to native wildlife and ecosystems, fostering curiosity and a greater awareness of conservation. Together, these experiences were part of Expedition West Virginia, a series of field trips designed to build resilience, leadership, and teamwork while encouraging personal growth, environmental awareness, and a deeper appreciation for the state’s natural and historical resources.
