Calhoun County Schools will have a Professional Development day on Friday, November 12th. No students will attend school on this day.

Calhoun County Schools will have a Community Food distribution today, October 7, at Calhoun Middle High School. If you are picking up for others you must have a note. Please follow all COVID protocols and stay in your vehicle. We will load vehicles as fast as possible. You can not block any roads we have students present and need buses to have access to the building. Thanks

Calhoun County Schools is actively seeking individuals interested in becoming Substitute Teachers.
You are encouraged to apply to be a substitute teacher if:
• you currently hold a West Virginia Teaching Certificate or,
• you currently hold a Long-Term or Short-Term Substitute Teaching Permit or,
• you have a Bachelor’s Degree and are willing to obtain a Long-Term or Short-Term Substitute Teaching Permit
Substitute teaching can be the perfect job for retired teachers, those that are interested in working part-time only or those who have recently graduated from college looking to enter the workforce.
If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher please come out to an informational meeting on Wednesday October 20th from 12:00-4:00 at Calhoun County Board of Education office.

Calhoun County School will be doing a Community Food distribution at Calhoun Middle/High School on Thursday, October 7 from 10:00-12:00. If you are picking up for someone, not present, you will need to have a note. Students will be present at school all roads will need to remain open to traffic. Please follow all COVID guidelines and stay in your car. We will work as fast as possible to load vehicles. We will be giving away the following; 1 roll of hamburger, kidney beans, and diced tomatoes. Funds for the Community Food Distribution is provided through grant funding. Thanks for supporting our students and staff.

Calhoun County Schools is very excited that we will again be offering our ASPIRE afterschool program through our 21st Century Community Learning Grant along with the support of our Save the Children partnership at all three schools in Calhoun County. Transportation will be provided along the main route traveling to the north and south ends of the county. A snack will also be provided each evening to students attending in person.

Calhoun County Red Devil football game vs Tyler Consolidated has been moved to Monday, September 20th at Tyler County.

After school buses will start running tonight. They will leave Calhoun Middle High School at 5:45. After school programs will start at all schools on September 20.

This fluid document may need to be added to and updated as more information becomes available.
Calhoun County students and staff will be required to wear a mask. We will continue to socially distance as much as possible. Calhoun County students, staff, and community will be required to wear a mask in school and spectators during indoor extracurricular activities. The requirement to wear a mask will be for all students and staff regardless of being vaccinated.
In the Re-Entry document, Calhoun County Schools will follow all of the West Virginia Department of Education and the West Virginia Health and Human Resources requirements.
Anyone who has symptoms of COVID-19 should not report to any school location until cleared by a medical professional. Any person that has traveled to an identified hot spot or traveled outside the United States will be required to notify Trudi Anderson, school nurse, for instructions. Anyone at Calhoun County Schools showing any of the signs of COVID-19 will be asked to leave immediately and seek medical assistance. If this is a student, they will be placed in a specific location to be monitored until a parent can pick the student up and seek medical attention. If necessary, Calhoun County Schools will seek medical attention for the student.
If you have kept your child home due to illness, you can contact Nurse Trudi to see if your child needs to be seen by a doctor or if Nurse Trudi can provide you a school excuse.
