Another fantastic week has come to a close. Week 4 has been another adventurous week at Summer Camp. Summer School students traveled to Columbus, OH to visit COSI, a science museum. Elementary students discovered and created their own fossils. Middle school students got crafty with their hands-on-activities. High school students found adventure in the great outdoors. Summer Celebration is Saturday, July 16 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. All students are welcome even though you are not enrolled at summer camp.

Good Evening , In the past couple of years CCS has provided backpacks to all students for the transport of laptops. Since we are no longer sending devices home for Elementary students, CCS will not be providing bookbags to the students in the elementary schools. Students in grades k-4 will be issued a device to be kept at school. Thank you and have a great evening, we can't wait to see you this fall!

Good Evening , This year we are giving students at CCMHS the option to use a school issued backpack, or bring their own backpack, for transporting the laptop between home and school. If students choose to bring their own backpack, it must have a padded laptop sleeve or pocket to help keep the device safe during transport. Students must bring the bookbag with the padded laptop pocket/sleeve to school the 1st day to receive their devices, or a school backpack will be issued to them. Thank you and have a great evening, we can't wait to see you this fall!

Please remember that if your student has an emergency medication they will need to have the medication and a current provider order for their first day of school. Now is a great time to start working on getting those things taken care of. Thanks, Nurse Trudi

Using STEM kits with a variety of materials, each team had to work together to build a bridge that would successfully allow a “car” to cross over it. Each team used different items to construct the bridges. In the end, only two of the teams’ bridges were strong enough to support the car! Great work, kiddos!

Yesterday, SummerBoost had the pleasure of hosting Tabitha Mays from Mountaineer Food Bank and Bruce Lloyd from the WVU Extension Office in Lewis County. Bruce did an agriculture lesson with students and discussed how seeds transform into fruits and vegetables. Students learned to identify different types of seeds and listened to how to help a seed grow. Tabitha brought fresh produce for the students to take home for their families; students received pears, green tomatoes, lettuce, and zucchini. They did a wonderful presentation to all that were involved in the life cycle of baring plants. We would like to thank Tabitha, the Mountaineer Food Bank, and Bruce for coming and for the yummy produce!
